Report an accident or incident from your phone

Tell your safety team about an accident, damage, injury or near miss right away, with photos and your location, and add more later.

Send a report

If anyone is hurt or in danger, call 911 first. Then report it here so your safety team is told right away.

  1. In the menu, tap Incidents, then tap Report an incident.
  2. Under What happened, tap the Type, for example Collision, Cargo damage or loss, or Near miss. Check the Date and Time.
  3. In Where (address, highway, mile marker), type the place, or tap Use my location to save your GPS position.
  4. Fill in Describe what happened and What was done at the scene.
  5. Under Photos and documents, add photos of the scene, all vehicles, damage, plates and the other driver's licence and insurance.
  6. Under Who and what was involved, tick your Power units, Trailers or Company vehicles. Your name is added to the report for you.
  7. Under Other vehicles involved, tap Add a vehicle for each vehicle that is not your fleet's. If you are short on time, the Plate and a photo are enough. Add what you can: Province / state, Type of vehicle, their driver's name and phone, Their insurance company and Damage to this vehicle. Tap More: licence, owner, VIN for the rest.
  8. Under Photos of this vehicle, add photos of the plate, the damage, and their licence and insurance card.
  9. Answer the Yes / No questions under Injuries, damage and police, and add details where boxes appear.
  10. Under Conditions, pick Weather, Road and Light, and add What may have caused it if you know.
  11. Tap Send report. You see Report sent. Your safety team has been notified.

Add photos or notes later

  1. Tap Incidents to see your reports with their status (Open, Under review or Closed). Tap a report to open it.
  2. Under Photos and documents, pick the Kind, choose the Files and tap Upload.
  3. Under Notes and history, type in Add a note and tap Add note.
  4. While your report is Open, you can still change the other vehicles: under Other vehicles involved, tap Edit or add photos, or Add a vehicle.
  5. Tap PDF report for a copy of your report.

Good to know

You only see the reports you sent. Your safety team handles the claim, costs and review, and only they can change the details or status. While your report is Open, you can still add or change the other vehicles.

If you see You are not on a fleet yet, so there is no one to send a report to, you are not linked to a fleet in DriverPass. Call your office instead.

Files can be photos, PDFs or Office files up to 20 MB each.

FAQs

For Employers & Carriers

DriverPass is a driver verification and compliance management platform built to help carriers streamline hiring, onboarding, and fleet compliance, all in one place.
We save you time and money by automating driver onboarding, licence & document tracking, and compliance monitoring, so you can focus on moving freight.
Any fleet size, from 5 to 500+ drivers. We work with local, regional, and long-haul fleets, including carriers in the U.S. and Canada.
Yes. You can add dispatchers, HR, compliance officers, or managers, each with customized permissions.

For Drivers

DriverPass lets you manage all your documents, certifications, and records in one spot. Stay organized and job-ready at all times.
No. DriverPass is free for drivers.
Your profile and the documents you upload are saved in your DriverPass account, not only on your phone. Sign in from any phone or computer to see them. If you can't sign in, tap Forgot password? on the sign-in page. If you lose a paper document, upload a photo of the replacement when you have it.
Yes. You'll get automatic alerts when documents are about to expire and can upload renewals directly from your phone.

For Shippers

Not as a report. Shippers use Secure Trip in DriverPass to follow their own loads. For a carrier's compliance documents, ask the carrier directly.

Compliance & Safety

We track license classes, medical cards, background checks, training completion, and more. You'll get alerts before anything expires.
DriverPass helps you keep the records. It stores driver files such as licences with their expiry dates, shows what is missing or expired, and sends reminders before a licence or document expires. Your fleet is still responsible for meeting DOT, FMCSA and provincial rules, and DriverPass does not give legal advice.
No problem. DriverPass lets you assign different compliance checklists by driver type so nothing falls through the cracks.
