Run a visitor sign-in log for C-TPAT and PIP

Make a sign-in page for each office or yard, leave it open on an iPad at the front desk, and see every visit, who is on site now, ID checks and badges in your Visitor Log.

Who can use the Visitor Log

The fleet owner and fleet staff with safety access can open it. In the sidebar, click Visitor Log (staff find it under Safety Tools).

Make a sign-in page and set up the iPad

  1. Click New sign-in page (or Make my first sign-in page).
  2. Enter a Name, such as Main office or Brampton yard, and an Address if you like.
  3. Check the Site rules visitors agree to. They start with common rules. Put one rule per line.
  4. Leave Ask for vehicle plate or truck and trailer number ticked if you want visitors to enter it, then click Save.
  5. Click Copy link, or Open to see the page.
  6. On the iPad, open the link in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. It opens full screen like an app.
  7. Turn on Guided Access on the iPad to keep visitors in the sign-in page.

What visitors do

Visitors answer one question per screen. The page can switch to French with the Français link, or to any of 31 languages with the globe menu next to it. The choice is not saved, so opening the sign-in link again starts in its usual language.

  1. To arrive, the visitor taps Sign in, then gives their name, company (or Skip), phone number, reason for the visit, and who they are here to see. If the page asks, they add their vehicle plate, truck or trailer number, or tap Skip.
  2. They read the site rules and tap I agree, then sign with their finger and tap Sign in.
  3. To leave, the visitor taps Sign out, taps their name, enters the last 4 digits of their phone number and taps Sign out.
  4. The page goes back to the start on its own after each visitor, and after 3 minutes with no one using it.

Watch who is on site and check visits

  1. On site now shows everyone signed in and not yet signed out. Click Sign out on a card to sign a visitor out yourself.
  2. Under Visit history, set the From and To dates, pick a reason or All reasons, search by name, company, person visited or vehicle, and click the search button.
  3. Tick ID checked on a row when you have seen the visitor's ID. It saves right away.
  4. Click Details to see the full visit, the signature and the sign-in page used. Enter a Badge number and click Save.
  5. Click Export CSV to download the visits that match your From and To dates, the reason you picked and your search, the same visits you see in the list. Click Print for a paper copy.

Sample visits and managing pages

The first time you open the Visitor Log, it may show made-up sample visits so you can see how it looks. They are marked Sample and are never exported or printed. Click Remove sample visits to delete them. To see them again, click Show sample visits.

Each sign-in page has a menu with Edit, Turn off (Turn on) and Delete. A page that is off or deleted stops working on the iPad. Visits already signed in on it stay in your log.

The sign-out list on the iPad only shows visitors who signed in on that page in the last 24 hours. Sign out anyone older from On site now.

If saving shows an error about your session, refresh the page and try again.

FAQs

For Employers & Carriers

DriverPass is a driver verification and compliance management platform built to help carriers streamline hiring, onboarding, and fleet compliance, all in one place.
We save you time and money by automating driver onboarding, licence & document tracking, and compliance monitoring, so you can focus on moving freight.
Any fleet size, from 5 to 500+ drivers. We work with local, regional, and long-haul fleets, including carriers in the U.S. and Canada.
Yes. You can add dispatchers, HR, compliance officers, or managers, each with customized permissions.

For Drivers

DriverPass lets you manage all your documents, certifications, and records in one spot. Stay organized and job-ready at all times.
No. DriverPass is free for drivers.
Your profile and the documents you upload are saved in your DriverPass account, not only on your phone. Sign in from any phone or computer to see them. If you can't sign in, tap Forgot password? on the sign-in page. If you lose a paper document, upload a photo of the replacement when you have it.
Yes. You'll get automatic alerts when documents are about to expire and can upload renewals directly from your phone.

For Shippers

Not as a report. Shippers use Secure Trip in DriverPass to follow their own loads. For a carrier's compliance documents, ask the carrier directly.

Compliance & Safety

We track license classes, medical cards, background checks, training completion, and more. You'll get alerts before anything expires.
DriverPass helps you keep the records. It stores driver files such as licences with their expiry dates, shows what is missing or expired, and sends reminders before a licence or document expires. Your fleet is still responsible for meeting DOT, FMCSA and provincial rules, and DriverPass does not give legal advice.
No problem. DriverPass lets you assign different compliance checklists by driver type so nothing falls through the cracks.
