Finish your fleet setup with Getting started

New fleet accounts get a setup checklist. See what is left, what ticks off on its own, and which pages stay locked until DriverPass approves your account.

Open the checklist

Getting started appears for fleet accounts that signed up on their own, after the first setup wizard is finished. Only the account owner sees it. Staff logins do not.

  1. On your dashboard, find the Get your fleet set up card. It shows your next three steps. Click See all setup steps to open the full list.
  2. You can also click Getting started in the sidebar. The percentage next to it shows how far along you are.
  3. Each step has a button that takes you to the right page, for example Upload documents, Add an employee or Choose driver types. Finish the task there and the step ticks off on its own.
  4. Four steps can also be confirmed by hand: Review your compliance checklist, Confirm your time zone, Review email notifications and Set up divisions. When you are happy with one, click Mark done. Click Undo if you marked it by mistake.

What is on the list

Verification: Upload your verification documents. DriverPass reviews four documents to approve your account: Operating authority, Certificate of insurance, Workers’ compensation and Tax registration. This step goes away once your account is approved.

Team: Add a teammate, so dispatch, safety or HR staff get their own login.

Drivers: Choose the driver types you run, Review your compliance checklist, and Add your first driver. Adding a driver, or creating a recruitment link to receive applications, both count.

Equipment & contracts: Add your trucks and trailers, and Set up driver contracts from a built-in template or your own.

Branding & settings: Add your company logo, Confirm your time zone, Review email notifications, and Set up divisions. Divisions are only needed if you run more than one company or division. The time zone default is Eastern (Toronto). If that is right for you, click Mark done.

Pages locked until approval

Until DriverPass approves your account, some pages are locked. In the sidebar they show a lock icon, and the checklist shows Available after approval. Opening one takes you to a Pending approval page.

Locked until approval: recruiting (recruitment links, posting and managing jobs, job applications), hiring and driver requests, sending and countersigning driver contracts, adding drivers, and messaging drivers.

You can do the other setup steps while you wait: upload your documents, add staff, choose driver types, review your checklist, add equipment and prepare your contract templates.

  1. To get approved, upload all four verification documents. Use Upload documents on the checklist, or Upload verification documents on the Pending approval page.

Good to know

To hide the dashboard card, click the X on it. To bring it back, open Getting started and click Show it again.

To take Getting started out of the sidebar, open the Getting started page and click Hide from sidebar under the title. You can still reach the page from See all setup steps on the dashboard card. To bring the sidebar link back, open Getting started and click Show it again next to This page is hidden from your sidebar. Show it again brings back both the sidebar link and the dashboard card.

The Getting started link leaves the sidebar when every step is done.

The checklist only checks what is saved in DriverPass. If a step stays open after you did it, open it again from the checklist and make sure the change saved. For example, a teammate counts only once their login is active.

We save you time and money by automating driver onboarding, licence & document tracking, and compliance monitoring, so you can focus on moving freight.
Any fleet size, from 5 to 500+ drivers. We work with local, regional, and long-haul fleets, including carriers in the U.S. and Canada.
Yes. You can add dispatchers, HR, compliance officers, or managers, each with customized permissions.

For Drivers

DriverPass lets you manage all your documents, certifications, and records in one spot. Stay organized and job-ready at all times.
No. DriverPass is free for drivers.
Your profile and the documents you upload are saved in your DriverPass account, not only on your phone. Sign in from any phone or computer to see them. If you can't sign in, tap Forgot password? on the sign-in page. If you lose a paper document, upload a photo of the replacement when you have it.
Yes. You'll get automatic alerts when documents are about to expire and can upload renewals directly from your phone.

For Shippers

Not as a report. Shippers use Secure Trip in DriverPass to follow their own loads. For a carrier's compliance documents, ask the carrier directly.

Compliance & Safety

We track license classes, medical cards, background checks, training completion, and more. You'll get alerts before anything expires.
DriverPass helps you keep the records. It stores driver files such as licences with their expiry dates, shows what is missing or expired, and sends reminders before a licence or document expires. Your fleet is still responsible for meeting DOT, FMCSA and provincial rules, and DriverPass does not give legal advice.
No problem. DriverPass lets you assign different compliance checklists by driver type so nothing falls through the cracks.
