Message drivers one to one or in a group

Use Driver Messages to chat with one driver, or post an announcement to a group. Drivers reply to you privately.

Message one driver

  1. In the sidebar, open Driver Management > Driver Messages.
  2. Tap New, or open the Drivers tab and tap Message next to the driver.
  3. Type your message and tap Send. Use the paperclip to attach a photo (JPG or PNG), a PDF or a Word file.
  4. Earlier conversations are on the Chats tab. Use Search conversations to find one.

Post to a group of drivers

Groups are for announcements. You post, every driver in the group sees it, and drivers cannot post in the group. Each driver gets a Message button under the group to reply to you privately, so their replies arrive on your Chats tab.

  1. Tap New group (or Create group on the Groups tab).
  2. Enter a Group name. Under Group type pick a smart group (All drivers, Local only, Highway only, Owner operators) or Custom to tick drivers yourself.
  3. Tap Create group, then post your first message.
  4. To rename the group or change its drivers, open it and use Edit group in its menu.

Who sees what, and good to know

Driver conversations are a shared inbox. You and every staff member with safety access see all driver chats, including chats a colleague started, so anyone can pick one up.

Drivers get a notification in DriverPass and on their phone if they use the app. A file sent on its own does not notify, so add a short message with it.

Messages are kept as a record. There is no delete button.

New fleet accounts can message drivers once DriverPass approves the account.

To message office staff instead, owners use Employee Management > Messages.

FAQs

For Employers & Carriers

DriverPass is a driver verification and compliance management platform built to help carriers streamline hiring, onboarding, and fleet compliance, all in one place.
We save you time and money by automating driver onboarding, licence & document tracking, and compliance monitoring, so you can focus on moving freight.
Any fleet size, from 5 to 500+ drivers. We work with local, regional, and long-haul fleets, including carriers in the U.S. and Canada.
Yes. You can add dispatchers, HR, compliance officers, or managers, each with customized permissions.

For Drivers

DriverPass lets you manage all your documents, certifications, and records in one spot. Stay organized and job-ready at all times.
No. DriverPass is free for drivers.
Your profile and the documents you upload are saved in your DriverPass account, not only on your phone. Sign in from any phone or computer to see them. If you can't sign in, tap Forgot password? on the sign-in page. If you lose a paper document, upload a photo of the replacement when you have it.
Yes. You'll get automatic alerts when documents are about to expire and can upload renewals directly from your phone.

For Shippers

Not as a report. Shippers use Secure Trip in DriverPass to follow their own loads. For a carrier's compliance documents, ask the carrier directly.

Compliance & Safety

We track license classes, medical cards, background checks, training completion, and more. You'll get alerts before anything expires.
DriverPass helps you keep the records. It stores driver files such as licences with their expiry dates, shows what is missing or expired, and sends reminders before a licence or document expires. Your fleet is still responsible for meeting DOT, FMCSA and provincial rules, and DriverPass does not give legal advice.
No problem. DriverPass lets you assign different compliance checklists by driver type so nothing falls through the cracks.
