Start load tracking and understand who sees it

Location is shared only while a load is active and stops when you deliver.

Start on the load

  1. Open the Trip tab with your load under Current load.
  2. On the Turn on load tracking card, read who will see your location and tap Continue.
  3. Allow location in the phone prompt. Then follow the steps for Always (iPhone) or Allow all the time (Android) so tracking keeps going in the background.
  4. Under NEXT STEPS, tap Start tracking if it is shown.
  5. Check the badge at the top reads Live, and GPS live shows a recent last update.

Who sees your location

While the load is active, DriverPass shares your truck’s location with the shipper, the broker and your fleet. Tracking runs only during an active load and stops on its own when you deliver.

Live (fg) means foreground only

If the badge says Live (fg), tracking pauses when you leave the app or lock the screen. Turn on background location in phone settings, then return to the load and check the badge again.

FAQs

For Employers & Carriers

DriverPass is a driver verification and compliance management platform built to help carriers streamline hiring, onboarding, and fleet compliance, all in one place.
We save you time and money by automating driver onboarding, licence & document tracking, and compliance monitoring, so you can focus on moving freight.
Any fleet size, from 5 to 500+ drivers. We work with local, regional, and long-haul fleets, including carriers in the U.S. and Canada.
Yes. You can add dispatchers, HR, compliance officers, or managers, each with customized permissions.

For Drivers

DriverPass lets you manage all your documents, certifications, and records in one spot. Stay organized and job-ready at all times.
No. DriverPass is free for drivers.
Your profile and the documents you upload are saved in your DriverPass account, not only on your phone. Sign in from any phone or computer to see them. If you can't sign in, tap Forgot password? on the sign-in page. If you lose a paper document, upload a photo of the replacement when you have it.
Yes. You'll get automatic alerts when documents are about to expire and can upload renewals directly from your phone.

For Shippers

Not as a report. Shippers use Secure Trip in DriverPass to follow their own loads. For a carrier's compliance documents, ask the carrier directly.

Compliance & Safety

We track license classes, medical cards, background checks, training completion, and more. You'll get alerts before anything expires.
DriverPass helps you keep the records. It stores driver files such as licences with their expiry dates, shows what is missing or expired, and sends reminders before a licence or document expires. Your fleet is still responsible for meeting DOT, FMCSA and provincial rules, and DriverPass does not give legal advice.
No problem. DriverPass lets you assign different compliance checklists by driver type so nothing falls through the cracks.
