Turn on background tracking on iPhone

Set Location to Always so tracking keeps going with the screen locked.

iPhone settings

  1. On the active load, tap Continue on the Turn on load tracking card.
  2. Allow location in the iPhone prompt. iPhone may only offer While Using at first; tracking then works while the app is open.
  3. For background tracking, open iPhone Settings, then DriverPass (on newer iPhones: Settings, Apps, DriverPass), then Location, and choose Always. Turn on Precise Location.
  4. Return to the load. The badge should change from Live (fg) to Live.

GPS check versus a live load

Test My GPS only checks that your phone can find you while the app is open. It does not turn on background tracking. Only an active load asks for Always.

If it stops while locked

Check the load is still active, Location is set to Always, and Location Services is on. Reopen the app and read any banner. If the last update stays old, tell dispatch what the banner says. Do not handle your phone while driving.
