Turn on background tracking on Android
Choose Precise and While using the app first, then Allow all the time.
Android permission steps
- On the active load, tap Continue on the Turn on load tracking card.
- In the phone prompt, choose Precise and While using the app.
- On the Location settings page that opens next, choose Allow all the time.
- If you skipped it, tap Open Settings in the app banner, then Permissions, then Location, then Allow all the time.
- Return to the load and check the badge says Live. While tracking, a notification reads DriverPass Tracking Active.
Foreground only and battery settings
Live (fg) means tracking pauses when the app is in the background. Android 11 and later only offer Allow all the time on the settings page, not in a pop-up. Some phones also limit background apps in battery settings.
If there are no background updates
Check location is on, Precise is allowed, and Allow all the time is chosen. Make sure the load is active and the app was not force-stopped. If the last update stays old, tell dispatch what the banner says. The notification alone does not prove a fresh update.
